Introduction to FSCD
I. Background and Establishment
Foundation for the Development of China and the Republic of the Congo (FSCD) is a non-profit public welfare organization dedicated to promoting cooperation and development between China and Republic of Congo in economic, social and cultural fields, etc. FSCD started its preparations in 2021 and was formally established in Republic of Congo in May 2024 with the support of all levels of government in Republic of Congo and Chinese parties, and Mr. Jean-Marie Nianga, Chief of Staff of Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, is the Chairman. – FSCD aims to promote the economic development and social progress of Republic of Congo through cooperation and exchanges, and to bring a brighter future to the people of the two countries.
As the second largest economy in the world, China has advanced technology, management experience and financial strength, and is able to provide strong support to Republic of Congo in many fields. Based on this demand, the FSCD was created with the goal of enhancing the sustainable development capacity of Republic of Congo through project cooperation and resource integration.
Republic of Congo, located in west-central Africa, is a country rich in resources but relatively lagging behind in development. For a long time, the country has faced tremendous development pressure in the areas of infrastructure, education, healthcare, and agriculture due to the challenges of its historical, political, and social environments. In the medical field, FSCD has promoted in-depth cooperation between China and major hospitals in Republic of Congo, helping to improve the quality of medical services in Republic of Congo by dispatching Chinese medical experts, providing advanced medical equipment, and carrying out training for healthcare workers. For example, FSCD coordinates the cooperation between Chinese medical teams and major hospitals in Brazzaville, the capital of Republic of Congo, focusing on supporting maternal and child health, infectious disease prevention and control, and the construction of public health system. Through this type of cooperation, it not only enhances the accessibility of medical resources, but also brings direct health improvement to the people of Republic of Congo.
II. Mission and Vision
FSCD’s core mission is to promote in-depth cooperation between China and Republic of Congo in the fields of agriculture, healthcare, and education, and to improve the quality of life of the people of Republic of Congo through specific projects, so as to promote the sustainable development of the local economy and society. Our vision is to be a bridge between the two countries, promoting cooperation in various fields, especially in the important areas of agriculture, healthcare and education, and contributing to the social stability and prosperity of the Republic of Congo. Through this series of initiatives, FSCD hopes to promote the people of the two countries to move forward to a better future together on the basis of friendship and common development.
III. Areas of Activities and Key Projects
FSCD is an important platform for cooperation between the two countries, aiming to promote bilateral cooperation in economic and social development.FSCD helps Republic of Congo to realize its goals in infrastructure construction, poverty alleviation and sustainable development by providing financial support and technical assistance. The agricultural sector is one of the pillars of the Republic of Congo’s economy. However, due to problems such as poor infrastructure, lagging agricultural technology and lack of funds, the Republic of Congo has a low level of agricultural development.FSCD’s main work in this area is to provide technical support and training to help Republic of Congo farmers improve their cultivation techniques and promote modern agricultural methods. Especially in the areas of food security, crop diversification and organic agriculture, FSCD has provided a lot of technical support to the local community. In addition, FSCD also supports the construction of agricultural infrastructure in Republic of Congo, including water conservancy and irrigation systems, warehousing facilities and transportation networks for agricultural products, thus promoting the improvement of agricultural production efficiency, and through the introduction of China’s agricultural product processing technology and equipment, FSCD helps to enhance the added value of agricultural products in Republic of Congo, and promote the increase of income and prosperity of local farmers.
